Not a time change, but a month change for our posts. They (govt) did set up an earlier time change. I am hearing bird calls outside, so perhaps spring will be here in spite of our snow.
Absolutely gorgeous out there... Mid 50s... That's why it's supposed to snow tonight through Sunday but no accumulation. Saw rain clouds everywhere but we didn't get anything. Guess I'm going to have to water soon. :(
Never be afraid of a scar. It just means that you were stronger than something that tried to hurt you.

Well, while he's here, I have this new deck design and I was thinking maybe Hank would like to take a look at it. It sort of involves a tree or two but other than working around them it shouldn't be much of a problem since I'm seeing steps on the diagonal edge; not a problem for him at all
The hose and pump on the washer are fine. It's something in the dial thingy. It doesn't stop the water when the wash cycle kicks in. The water keeps running. It works fine on the rinse cycle, just not the wash cycle. For now, I'm just going to turn the water off and hang out in the laundry room. I have a work table in there and plenty to do. Hank's not so sure. We'll see.
Storm expected here as well. We have tickets to an Orchestra Iowa concert in Cedar Rapids tomorrow night. Don't think we're gonna make it.
Snow is supposed to start tonight and continue off and on through Sunday. Dangerous wind chills. Hope the snow holds off until later tonight. Wilma and I are planning a trip to our favorite pizza place in Williamsburg. It's our traditional before diet feast. We go on a 6-8-week diet every year about this time to shed the 10 pounds or so we've put on during the winter months. That way we don't keep accumulating pounds upon pounds as the years pass.
Cottage-in-the-Meadow Gardens: Come on in and take the tour! Check out the photos! As a gardener: When planning for a year, I plant corn. When planning for decades, I plant trees. When planning for life, I train and educate people.
Yes, the kitchen drain that has all the elbows and loop de loops, ya know. But I'll get some powerful gunk and fix it again. Liquid Drano just didn't do it. Or liquid Plumber or whatever it was.
And that storm looks to be unavoidable, the one coming down from the North.
From the looks of things it will be an ice storm for us.
Our snow event this weekend has been updated - they have reduced our expected snow amount to 4 to 8 inches WHOOPEE! but have added in 25 mph winds BUMMER!
4 inches of snow with a 25 mph wind in 10 degree weather leads to huge drifts. More snow means more drifts. Maybe they'll revise it further and make it mostly go away! I can always hope!
I see improvement in next week's forecast finally. We might warm up to closer to normal soon.
Stay warm all you people east of me. Maybe this will be the last big blast of old man winter for this season!
Vic, that's why I make it a habit to not leave the washer running if I leave the house!
Yes, Sharon, a snake maybe?
No gardening for me today even thought the sun is shining and it's in the 50s. Accounting and getting tax records together to send the accountant tomorrow. So in a grumpy mood.
But the show was very good last night. Love Letters. Just two actors, sitting and reading letters written to each other over the years from childhood to adulthood. I wasn't sure where it would go but it kept our attention the entire time. They used a professional actor and someone from the community and in this case (different actors each night), my friend was acquainted with the male actor so she saw lots of friends who also came to see him perform. It was a good time!
