I just looked at weather and Larry is going to have boatloads of snow and bitter cold temps. Sharon's looks worse with ice pellets. Crying Crying Jill, what is yours?

We'll be 70 degrees tomorrow. Putting down cow and hen poop in the front yard. Whistling

It's supposed to be near 50 here today, and we'd better enjoy it--tomorrow brings more ice and snow. Grumbling

We are under a Winter Storm Warning. This what they are saying:

* Timing... a mix of freezing rain and sleet will begin this
evening changing over to a mix of sleet and snow late
tonight... before changing over to all snow by midday on Sunday.

* Accumulations... snow and sleet accumulation of 7 to 10
inches... along with a light glazing of ice.

* Winds... north 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph Angry

I was planning to go see my mother today - she lives about two hours away. I am due to get the snow/ice mix earlier than Kansas City, which is where this forecast is timed for - so I've postponed my visit until next weekend. I'm not much interested in driving home in sleet/ice/snow mix. Sad My husband is working today and will be driving home at midnight. If it's really bad he will check into a motel and stay put until the snow plows have a chance to clear a path. I'm staying put - I have lots of logs for the fire and I'm stocked up on food, so I have no obligations until Monday morning. And I have vacation time for that if it's still ugly!

Weather here next weekend is expected to be in the 50s and much much nicer. I usually stop on the way to my Mom's house to pick up one of my children or a mix of children and grandchildren and drag them along with me. They are most helpful with the little "honeydew" jobs that Mom saves up between visits. Besides, they need to see my Mom too now and then! Fortunately, all three of my kids live between my farm and my Mom's place - so they are easy to include. Angel

It's 16 degrees here now and lots of wind. I hear we 'll be breaking records for cold temps Sunday and Monday. Great - just great! Whistling You all stay safe and warm!

high 20s at the moment. It is supposed to be that way the coming week & some snow. We seem to be north of the main storm.

I'm looking for ice starting at noon on Sunday and continuing through Monday. I'm worried about the old cottonwood tree that is on the easement beside me. It's huge and very old and has a split trunk, both sides are very large. In '09 with that ice storm it was branches from that tree that did the most damage to my house/roof. If it has to be something this time, I hope it's just branches again. Ten days of no electricity and no phone service of any kind was beyond scary. I hate to have to go through it again.

Y'all be safe and stay warm.

Be a good day maker! Smile!
Sharon, the coming storm doesn't sound a bit fun. Praying that tree stays put. Maybe the storm will not develop like they are guessing it will. Sometimes I think it is a guess. The forecast here calls for snow after ten and through tomorrow and Monday.
They say we could get four to eight inches. It will probably end up being two. Hope so.
I know there is a system coming because last night and today I have hurt so. It has been a bit discouraging so I have had to work on keeping a good attitude. I cooked supper, washed up dishes, put dishes away and crocheted. That is about all. Compared to what I read about that you all accomplish, what I did doesn't seem like much.

Have a great night and a restful tomorrow. Group hug

Wow, Toni, what a terrible mess on that highway! I'm glad you weren't there. I'm sorry to hear that someone lost their life.
