Hi Linda. I have a request to mention. I received a letter from a good friend and she had a prayer request there that I want to pass along. My friends niece began having pains in her shoulder and after several days, it did not go away. They thought maybe a muscle had been pulled or something. To make a longer story short, it is thought that she might have a blood clot in her lungs and perhaps some type of blood disease. My friend is asking for prayer. Her name is Kaitlyn. She is twenty years old.
Thank you for your prayers on her behalf.

(kitty tried to help me type so I had to edit;)

Prayers for Kaitlyn.

And Vic, prayers for Beth.

Vic, do you remember Hey_Jude from DG? She's one of the first DG friends I met very early, right after I joined, She loved seeds and fruit trees but lived in Scottsdale Arizona. She would get seeds from everywhere and try to get them to grow in that climate no matter that some of the seeds should be planted where it isn't harsh. Her land was 'caliche' ?? Not a good thing for plants that love aerated soil and moisture. I must have sent her hundreds of KY wildflower seeds, telling her all the time that they wouldn't grow. Anyway, she went the same route as your friend Beth and with the same results.

She was diagnosed about the time my husband passed in '07, she had a pretty good first 6 months, but then Chemo was no longer working, Through the next 2 or 3 months, she crocheted a couple of lovely shawls for me and a lighter weight triangular shawl of cotton thread and another that was more like a vest. She did beautiful work. And then she started sending me all her seed collection. OH, and for Ashley she crocheted many many bangle bracelets, they were crocheted over brown rubber canning rings and they have lasted this long, She added little beads and charms to them. I still have all the larger things she sent and many of the bracelets that she sent to both Ash and me.

I lost her almost a year to the day after she was diagnosed and after Bob passed. I thought it so strange that the chemo nor anything else ever worked for her. Ovarian cancer is most often treatable, but not for Jude. I still have a little box filled with her seeds, and all the crochet work she sent is in my closet.

It was all about the same time that Carol Eades died from a brain tumor, so '07 and '08 were filled with the deaths of too many people I cared about.

You know sometimes we get angry when someone we love passes and that anger hangs over our heads and fills up our hearts and we question why. That's the way I felt during that time. Too many losses and my heart was heavily cracked. But then I started writing, an article or two a week for the next 2 or 3 years, and I think I might have written that anger and most of the hurt away.

We can't waste time in anger, nor must we question death. But we can keep praying for those we care about.

Kaitlyn and Beth. I will remember them in my prayers.

Will do the prayers. Can I add my grandson, not so horrid but they can't find out what is causing pains in his shoulder. MRI should nothing & they think it may be a nerve or perhaps a disc in his neck. Appied for a MRI there, but insurance says 'not necessary'. What do they know? Just trying to 'save money'. What if it were someone with a horrid disease. This one means that he can't work.

Sharon - I remember the name but I can't put a face to her name. I'm so sorry Crying Beth was diagnosed a year ago this past April - right before her birthday. She is still home, under Hospice care but also under the care of her oncologist which you are allowed to do if your insurance agrees and hers does.

I agree with all you said - It will break my heart to lose her but I know she will be safe in heaven.

I was telling Hank this morning, I've worked on this property more in the last year than the 18 years we've lived. I've spread out more working in the woods, not just the gardens and I so love doing that. I told Hank the property is my second husband Big Grin I love it so much. And then I said, just when I wish I were younger so I could do more, I also know where I'm going when I leave this earth so no, I don't want to be younger.

Lucy - I will absolutely pray for your grandson.

Prayers for your grandson Lucy. Insurance is causing so many of our problems. I need pain patches for my lower back but the insurance says no and they are incredibly expensive. So I do without.

I'm anxious to do the same clearing of the forest and woods when I move to the mountains. I'll only work in a small area on the lower part of the mountain, even so, I will have a little woodland area for ferns.

My friends, thank you for the prayers for all of us.
I am having too many sleepless nights and that makes me so weary. But I am still able to move about but cannot keep up with everything. The IBS is bothersome.
I go see the thyroid doctor on Wednesday to see if my bloodwork is still to his liking. I think it should be but he always checks it every six months.
I have prayed for all the concerns. Thank you for remembering me, also.

Too many cats!!
Lucy - Surprised that, when they did the MRI on his shoulder that they didn't do it on his neck at the same time as that's what the tech told me. I had an MRI on my shoulder a month ago to find out why my shoulder was on constant fire all the time and they scanned my neck at the same time. Come to find out that I have 2 degenerated discs in my lower neck (probably from putting too much weight on my head, literally. I would go to the back of Costco, get a 25lb bag of catfood, balance it on my head, and walk to the front of the store to check out. I try not to use a cart if I can avoid it because the temptation to put crap in the cart is really great.. that's why they have such big carts at stores like that.) and the AC joint in my shoulder is gone (the cartilage is completely worn away). They don't do shoulder replacements like hip or knee replacements, so it's the "take 2 Tylenol & put an ice pack on it" type treatment. Have him ask his doctor about indomethycin. It's a prescription anti-inflamatory and it works great if I remember to take it every day (which I'm *usually* pretty good about).

Never be afraid of a scar. It just means that you were stronger than something that tried to hurt you.

Toni, no more silly stunts like putting the big bags on your head. Please use the cart and show restraint by not filling it up with needless stuff. You don't want to make it all worse. Just saying. Lovey dubby

His right arm goes numb periodically & now the left one will do it also. Nothing can be done until they find out what the trouble is. He is only 26 & can't work. Difficult! Thank you for the prayers.

Could be from an old childhood injury, scar tissue, something like that pressing on nerves, Lucy. I hope it's something simple and easily fixed or repaired.

Still praying for him.

Lucy, prayers continue for your grandson but I'm hoping his doctor or someone can convince his insurance he needs this MRI. Maybe even talking to someone "higher up" at the insurance company. It's so frustrating that insurance companies are able to decide our medical procedures.

He originally had a fall at home, all this trouble came from then. Orthapetic man had them do a MRI on the right shoulder, no problems. The neurologist wants the one on his neck. Stupid insurance people !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please pray for a dear friend. We just received word that the cancer she has been fighting for a long time is about to take her. The couple is from Cuba and have been married 19 years now.
They certainly will not see their 20th without a miracle. The husband is so sad. It is hard to watch his wife suffering and he can't do one thing to help her. This is heavy on our hearts this weekend.
Thanks for praying. Crying
