|Thanks for the encouragement my friend. We haven't told the insurance company anything at this point. We have time to figure the extent of the damage and then we will tell them. Hubby said don't tell the kids either or they will worry us to death trying to help. Isn't that just like a man? He says let us find out what we need and then we can ask for help if we need it. I agree to that and that only. He is planning to start very early in the morning after he goes and buys pry bars of all kinds to be able to treat the wood with a delicate hand. The man knows wood and he is the best one to do this at this point. After stuff has been removed we will be able to see how far the water has traveled.
That room is 10 years old. He found the paperwork a little while ago. This is the first problem we have ever had with it. The ice block thing is something lots of folks are dealing with but surely that won't happen again this close to March. Fingers crossed on that. We will figure a solution to that this summer. Lots of investigation work will have to be done before hand. Hubby is back to his normal strength level now so he is ok working on this. A folding ladder is all that he will have to climb and not the tall one for going on the roof. I can climb too so we can probably do this job but it will take all of our time for quite a while to get it back in pristine condition which I am going to insist on.
Hopefully we can get things squared away by gardening time. I will try to start some seeds once we get this under control but right now we don't have any available space to put seed trays. Some things will have to go back to where they belong before I can set up lights.
