The dry side of Oregon
Be yourself, you can be no one else
Good morning. So far I have stars and a moon, a soft breeze, and almost 50 degrees. I can hear the soft who-who-who of an owl talking to it's mate, or anybody who will listen, like me. I think I mentioned that the great horned owls appeared to be checking out the barn owl nest box a few weeks ago. I don't know if they decided to use it, and won't know until about January. The forecast says 90 today, or something in that neighborhood. Like yesterday. Leaves haven't started to change color here yet, except on the Virginia Creeper that hides a good section of my rail fence. I noticed a few red leaves yesterday when I was hanging the laundry on the line. Fall will be here soon, however. I'm in no hurry for it.

We had goat shiskabobs for dinner last night. Domestic goat is very mild, lean and just perfect cooked on the grill with alder smoke and a bit of barbeque sauce. I put green bell pepper chunks and onion wedges on the skewers, wished for cherry tomatoes and forgot that I had mushrooms. We enjoyed them anyway. There is another package of goat kabobs in the freezer. Lamb, too. That reminds me, I need to be making some inquiries about a lamb for the freezer.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
