des anyhone remember that series starring davin mcgavin?? it was based on the mike hammer books but i don't know who the author was. mcgavin plays mike hammer who is not afraid to break the rules. i forget if he was a cop or a private eye but i think he was a private eye.

I'm sure it was. I think it just didn't fit into my schedule.

Would you be talking about the 1984 show ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086760/ ), in which case I was newly married and in Germany for a year. The only TV was AFN which was only one channel.

Or the 1956 one, ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050039/ ) in which case I was not even yet a twinkle in my mom's eye. Rolling on the floor laughing
