adam sandler arrives in hawaii on his sailboat on his way to alaska. in a diner he meets drew barymore.and he falls for her but he doesn't know that she has been in an accident many years before and has no short term memory. when he finds out he divises different ways to meet her again "for the first time". once he makes believe he has car trouble etc. still he isn't getting any closer to a real date so he makes a video which includes news about her accident and all he things she has missed since then including the world series winners and other news stories.

everytrhing seemsto be going good for him until she heres her brother saying that he is heading off to alaska. she decides to "break off with him"

i won't tell you how it ends but it is a funny movie and i hope you get to watch it.

This is one of my favorite comedies, and I'm not really an Adam Sandler fan. Did you see it yet Sheri? Drew Barrymore plays such a ditz, and she does it so well.

Whenever I hear 'wouldn't it be nice' by The Beach Boys, I think of this movie, and her singing it off-key while she's slapping paint on the wall.

If it weren't for a couple of toilet-humor scenes by Rob Schneider (whom I DON'T like) I would totally love this movie.

We watched this a couple of days ago. I really liked it. Barrymore is just adorable. I'm not an Adam Sandler fan but he did a good job in this role. In fact, all of the cast did a good job. It's a fun, lighthearted romantic comedy.

Thanks for recommending it. I wouldn't have watched it if I hadn't seen this thread.

I like this movie. Its not bad for a RomCom, which tend to be a bit formulaic and on the cheesy side.

I think most of them are pretty predictable. Every now & then they're a nice change. I tend to like more serious movies, but do love a good comedy.
