We were just watching this again tonight. Anyone else familiar with this movie? Frank, I think this might be up you alley!

I'm not sure I've seen it. What is it about? I am assuming it must be good or you wouldn't be watching it "again".

It's about a professional assassin who takes a young girl under his wing. And she insists that he teach HER his "profession." Here's the synopsis from Netflix:
"Léon (Jean Reno), the top hit man in New York, has earned a rep as an effective "cleaner." But when his next-door neighbors are wiped out by a loose-cannon DEA agent (Gary Oldman), he becomes the unwilling custodian of 12-year-old Mathilda (Natalie Portman). Before long, Mathilda's thoughts turn to revenge, and she considers following in Léon's footsteps. Luc Besson directs this gritty and unflinching actioner."

woofie - when i first saw the title i thought immediately of a movie a long time ago with the same name staring burt lancaster and clu galagher (sp). they are both hit men and burt isthe older one showing the young man how it is done,.

i did not see the movie you are talking about but it wold be something i would be interested in..;

I'd be curious what you guys think of it. Leon is sort of the assassin with a heart of gold; it's pretty funny in places.
The Netflix title is actually "Leon: The Professional"

woofie - in teh lead man in this movie french?? also, does h die at the end in a hallway or outside the building where he adn the girl was hiding. i remember somethign about a bomb also. is that the movie you are talking about??

That sounds very like the movie we're talking about! Ha, I'm not surprised if you've already seen it; but I think it's definitely worth another viewing! We liked it so well, we recorded it!

taht was an excellent movie. i saw it the first time on the t.v.and since then i catch it every once in a while.
