I had the same three choices Jeannie, but I chose terminator because its Ah-nold. Of course had Predator been in THAT list. Well Predator it would have been.
although the christmas story is a classic i had to go with raiders of the lost ark. i thought it was a great action movie and that is why i voted for it. ET was a cute movie, i never saw Raging Bull, Terminator had alot of action but i didn't l;ike the story line.

I had it narrowed down to either A Christmas Story or Raiders of the Lost Ark. I voted for Raiders. It has action, pseudo-history, comedy, and a touch of a love story. I love it and can watch it over and over.
A Christmas Story is so charming and well-done, but I had to go with Raiders (not merely because of my crush on Harrison Ford but because that movie had something for everyone!).
No, my votes normally range between the 2 or 3 in the list that I have actually seen. During the 80's I was finishing High School, getting married, lived a year in Germany......not too many movies.

I didn't see all those movies, but Christmas Story and Raging Bull were my favorites of the ones I did see. I had a three-year-old when ET came out so I saw that so many times I got sick of it, but for my taste Raging Bull edged out Christmas Story.
(it was close though, I loved my Red Rider carbine)

Had to vote for Raiders. It came out early in the special effects race so it had much less of the whiz bang techno stuff and a lot more story. It was entertaining from start to finish which is more than I can say for most action movies these days.

I'm willing to bet that when you peruse this list, you'll think many of the movies on this 'top ten' really don't deserve to be there. Just for the heck of it, why not put together your own 'top ten' from this list of 100. http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/movie-pages/movie_80s.... I know right off the bat that "Blade Runner" would be on my list.

that is really, really, tough. i couldn't even begin to rate them 1 through 10 but the top five for me would be chariots of fire, witness, hoosiers, fields of dreams, amadeus
