I think this show is only on Direct TV's Audience channel (used to be called channel 101, which is the channel number too).

We only watched it because it came on after Damages (with Glenn Close and Rose Byrne).

A woman (Cloe Sevigny) plays a hit woman. That all I knew when we started watching, but it turns out she is a transsexual who discovers she (he?) had a son with former girlfriend. She ends up caring for these kids in a rural farmhouse in Yorkshire. (we thought it might be Ireland from the accents)

If I had read a full synopsis, we probably wouldn't have watched, it just sounded too dumb, but the whole thing was really well done, it was almost like watching a movie. Even my husband liked it, and he's pretty homophobic.
