i would consider "taken" with neim nelson (from shindler's list) as a real slipper.

he did that movie only because he had the time and it was one of his best a sfar as the movie making money was concerned.

Jimmy Cagney's last movie "Ragtime". It didn't receive any critical acclaim, nor even nominations from the academy as I remember. It was one of Mary Steenburgen's earliest roles and it also starred (don't remember his name) the guy that played the role of 'Billy Bibbet' in "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". Still one of my all-time favorite movies. Does anyone else remember that one??

it was jack nickelson at his best.

i thought the money pit with tom hanks was a very funny movie but according to holloywood it did not make a lot of mney.

It was a story about racism in the 1920s and one young white man's defiance against it.

speaking of sleepers, does anyone here rememberr the movie "sleeper" with woody allen?? he plays a guy who was frozen or something llke that and he wakes up in the future. in one scene this beautiful girl asks him if he would like to make love to her and he jumps at the chance. he goes into her bedroom and there are two tubes. she gets in one and she tells hm to get in the other. i won't go into the details but thats how they did it in the future. i guess you had to be there to apprecie it. LOL

Yes I did see that and I remember the McDonald's sign in that movie that had a 1 with four rows of zeros telling how many had been served. (Remember when McD's sign kept a running tally of the number of customers they had served)

Hm, NF has it but not Watch Instantly and my list is already so LONG!

Here is how they describe it though:
Quoting: Sleeper(1973) PG

Health-food store owner Miles Monroe (Woody Allen, who also directs) bites the dust in 1973 and ends up cryogenically frozen, only to be defrosted in a dystopian future in which people pleasure themselves with an "orgasmatron" and dissidents' brains are "electronically simplified." Upon becoming a hunted man, Miles masquerades as an android butler in the home of a self-indulgent poet (Diane Keaton) -- but the ruse doesn't last.

Genre:
Classic Comedies, Indie Comedies, Slapstick

This movie is:
Witty, Goofy

Herbie, you mean Liam Neisen??? Taken was an excellent film even though the theme has been done over and over. He's really good. And selective about what he does.

I liked all the old Woody Allen films, not so much the recent ones.

If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have figured out who it was. Yes, he is selective and does extremely well in numerous roles.
