I started to read this book!! Don't know why I haven't finished it yet, but I would think the movie would be right up your alley. Wonder if it will still be playing at the end of March??

my son saw it and he thought it was a complete bust. the 3-d experience is great and it was real hi tech but in the end he thought it was just another anti war movie.

My son read the book, way before the movie came out. He loved both, but we all love Martin Scorsese in this house.
The guy who wrote the book was on our local radio station. He was saying he really doesn't write stories, he develops characters, then looks for a story to put them in. I thought that was interesting. Maybe that's why the critics panned the movie.
i coujld never red a bookl and then see he movie. the movie can never do it justice. friends say shutter island and say it was first rate. one crit said "it wasn't a great movie but movie making at it's best"

Well, hopefully, Jeannie and I will be seeing Shutter Island this weekend (If it is still at my theaters). I'll give my opinion after the movie. Jeannie owns the book so if I like the movie, I can easily get my hands on the book.
Well, Sheri (sjweld) and I were able to see Shutter Island this afternoon.
I thought it was a really good movie, and very suspensful! I highly recommend it. I had read about half of the book about a year ago, and from what I remembered the movie followed the book (up to the point where I stopped reading it).
I give this movie - 5 out of 5!
