Has anyone gone to see this? I have it on my hold list on NetFlix. The ads sure do make it look like a good movie.

Don't give away the movie if you have seen it but do give me an idea of what you thought of it please.

Thanks :)

Ooh! Ooh!!! Hurray!

I started to read this book!! Don't know why I haven't finished it yet, but I would think the movie would be right up your alley. Wonder if it will still be playing at the end of March??

my son saw it and he thought it was a complete bust. the 3-d experience is great and it was real hi tech but in the end he thought it was just another anti war movie.

Frank, are you talking about Shutter Island? Or maybe Avitar?

My son read the book, way before the movie came out. He loved both, but we all love Martin Scorsese in this house.

The guy who wrote the book was on our local radio station. He was saying he really doesn't write stories, he develops characters, then looks for a story to put them in. I thought that was interesting. Maybe that's why the critics panned the movie.

To read the book first and still enjoy the movie, it must be pretty good. I have found that most movies can not hold up to the book.

I have GOT to see this movie!

Frank I agree, watch a movie first, THEN read the book. The other way around is normally a disappointment.

Well, hopefully, Jeannie and I will be seeing Shutter Island this weekend (If it is still at my theaters). I'll give my opinion after the movie. Jeannie owns the book so if I like the movie, I can easily get my hands on the book.

Well, Sheri (sjweld) and I were able to see Shutter Island this afternoon.

I thought it was a really good movie, and very suspensful! I highly recommend it. I had read about half of the book about a year ago, and from what I remembered the movie followed the book (up to the point where I stopped reading it).

I give this movie Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up - 5 out of 5!
