Anyone know who played the music for The Supremes? The Four Tops? The Temptations?

I could go on & on. I grew up in Detroit during the 60's, Motown was everywhere. Anyone know?

The Funk Brothers! And this documentary is their story, LOADED with music. If you've seen this, you will forever be able to spot the base line of James Jamerson, and pick out a Funk Brothers song.

I love a lot of that music (even though I was either not born or just a wee baby during that time period.) The movie sounds like something I would enjoy.

It's excellent! Throughout the movie they show footage of a reunion concert, with different singers singing the songs. We heard about it on NPR, I never rented it, just went out and bought it. I've bought 3 copies because I end up giving them away.

Check out your Netflix, I'll bet they have it.

it was wonderful, wasn't it? did you have any idea they even existed before you saw the documentary? I had no idea, and didn't even think of who played all that music.

It's more about the men behind the hits, than the songs themselves. you might like it.
