Cochin Bantams I'm getting started with just two, From the Ag Fair yesterday, One Pencilled, and the other??? I like the "other", very tame and quiet. Someone said she's not blue, she's Splash, but her color is very even, not blotchy or spotted.

I think I'd like a small flock of these chickens.

Booo! They sold lots of chickens at the Ag Fair over the weekend, and now all the hardware stores are sold out of chicken wire, poultry netting, wire mesh!

Oh no. I imagine being where you are, you have to just about get things in the stores like that when you see them? How long until they have more in stock?

Ha!! Heaven only knows when they'll restock. The Caribbean is run by people who dislike work. They want to stock up their store so it looks nice. They are very unhappy when something sells out, as they have to go to a lot of trouble to order and restock.

Heard over and over is, "Oh, that item sells out too quickly, we are going to stop carrying it". No Joke!!!

OK, a photo without comment, our chickens at the ag fair.

Melissa, we had 3 Cochins, and I really liked them. 2 died, and we are down to our last one, sniff.

Chicken breeding must be very interesting. One of the Cochins bred with our Sultan, and of the three eggs we hatched, 1 looks like a Sultan, and the other two look like Cochins but they are very large- as big as or bigger than our Rhode Island Red Girls.

LOVE that wild rooster. So pretty!

Hello all!
I've been raising Bearded Silkies for almost 2 years. Tango was our first, we got her as a wee downey chick. Last year we bought a few more chicks and kept one. He is now Tango's mate.
I couldn't upload a pic from this phone, so I hope this link works to show Tango with her very first hatchling.
Link didn't work, :-(

They are such a sweet little family. I will try and post a pic of Newton, (our roo) as soon as I can. If this baby turns out to be a roo we will need a good home for him. One roo in the burbs is enough for us.
