Thank you Porkpal ![]() Haystack, this is fantastic information to know. I've owned my rooster for going on two months now, and six hens, first time owning chickens. Yesterday I was spurred by my rooster after shooing him off of my tomato plants. Usually he would run away when I would clap my hands and shoo him off but this time he just stood there. Then as I turned to walk away, he came up and spurred me good and started his cockle doodle doo and feather ruffling! I went and got the broom and tapped it on the ground - we use that to keep them off of the porch - once again he didn't budge! I had no idea to look out for this behavior and was not expecting it. Did your training work on the roo you are holding or did the owners have to do the same proceedure with him? I'm just wondering if it matters who works with the rooster to get them to stop being aggressive? Here he is, you can see his spurs in this pic.
