As anyone that knows me even a little bit soon realizes, I want to get myself and family outside as much as possible. One of my 3 cubits is on exactly this topic – getting kids outside, and what to do once you get them there. So, here are a few ideas that I have done over the years.

It's all about choices.
Lots of possibilities....what are your favorite flavors/food? Now, let's cook it (outdoors...) ?????

My daughter is starting to enjoy cooking. I've been trying to get her more interested in the outdoors (She would prefer to sit inside a read a book all summer). One thing that seems to help a little is getting her interested in all the herbs and vegetables from the garden that we cook with. Now, if I could just get all the insects to hide whenever I get her outside I'd really have a chance ;-)

Cooking is another interest my son and I share, and we make several things together. Cooking outside is a bit more challenging, however. But I think growing the various flavors that can be used for cooking is a wonderful idea, and we grow many things such as different flavored basils, tomatoes, and many other things. And of course, fresh picked garden produce cannot be beat.

Family Fun - Wireless & Unplugged

I created this cubit to share ways of motivating families, especially children, to get outside, and activities to do once everyone is outside. Being outdoors is a wonderfully fun and healthy activity. Let's share indoor unplugged activities, as well.
