I was quite competitive when I was growing up, still am, actually. I didn't really enjoy games that I knew I could never win. Most of the kids were bigger than I was, so I stuck with games where size didn't matter. I loved to play marbles, and sometimes I could even beat the big kids.

So much of this article registers with me even though I grew up in the UK, marbles, you were a nobody unless you had a bag full! Cigarette and tea cards and a pouch of five stones I would not even dare go to school without those, worse than turning up naked! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Oh my, Jon, I didn't know there was anything worse than turning up at school naked!!
