Here is a fun and easy project to try and it requires very little in materials with some very interesting results. I hope you give it a try and show us some creations of your own when you are done. Here is my model, showing off his latest in fall fashions designed by himself.

I bought a bunch of colored cotton tees this week so DGS & I can do this project tomorrow. He will be gifting the tees to all family members for Christmas Smiling

I am curious, when you spray the bleach on one side of the tee, does it bleed through and bleach the backside as well? I'd like to do both sides of the shirts....wondering if there is something I can put between the shirt to prevent the backside from bleaching out if that is what happens... any ideas here are welcomed! DGS and I will go leaf hunting tonight when he gets here Thumbs up

Just your luck, I happen to be sitting here procrastinating again on my dissertation. But back to it right after this.
I did have some spray go all the way through, but just barely. I also did both sides of many shirts with nothing in between, and they look fine. My first suggestion is to be somewhat light with the spray, and quicker with flipping sides and then neutralizing. Certainly, putting some paper or extra material in between the layers could help. I don't think plastic would work, though, as extra drops might just set on top of it and get smeared around. Just make sure you take it out before you put it in the vinegar Hilarious! . If it is a bright sunny day, you will be amazed how quick this can go, and how little spray is needed, so make sure you have all your stuff out and ready to go before you start bleaching.
Have fun with it, and let me know how it goes. And don't forget to have 2 shirts ready at once, so you can flip the wet leaves over and use them to make more leaf 'prints'.

Hurray! thanks! I'll try to take pix of the process and post here if anyone else wants to do it, dont know if I can tho cuz I'm doing this project with a 2 yr old! Rolling on the floor laughing between the quick neutralizing and keeping an eye on him to make sure he's not drinking bleach....hopefully I can snap a few photos! Hilarious!

Maybe you need to get your youngest child to help out - if it is possible for a teenager to do so and enjoy it Whistling . Just pass over the camera and see what photos get taken.
Good luck with the challenge of keeping a 2 year old from turning everything white with this project Hilarious! .

Since bleach can work in the dark recesses of a washing machine, I imagine a cloudy day would also work, but just not as fast. I have only done this once, so I can't offer a lot of experience. Sharon might know better, as I got this project from her. I have seen others with this project, as well, so I am sure somebody must know. Or you could try it and see what happens, and of course let us know.

Well we didnt get to do this project this weekend after all Sad DGS was wound up too much, couldnt settle down because there were just tooo many people visiting and too much excitement. I am hoping he can come for a visit next week, when it will be just him and I. That will be a more calm and serene setting and maybe we can do more projects then.

I may try a practice one later today while everyones gone, just to see if it will work on a cloudy day. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Family Fun - Wireless & Unplugged

I created this cubit to share ways of motivating families, especially children, to get outside, and activities to do once everyone is outside. Being outdoors is a wonderfully fun and healthy activity. Let's share indoor unplugged activities, as well.
