Thanksgiving is coming with Christmas right around the corner. I always appreciate hand-made gifts and my son and I have fun making something different to give as holiday presents every year. One of the benefits of hand-made items is that it does not matter what culture or holiday you celebrate, they are almost always appreciated as the thoughtful gift they are. Start planning now so there is plenty of time to have fun with your project and not feel rushed.

Lance this is a wonderful article...I knew it would be when you suggested it in my gourd forum.

For children these little gourds is so appropriate for their hands...Keep up the good work and play with your son and I hope your family is beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel of bad things happening to good people

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving

What a great project! When my family was young we made new craft ornaments every year. The kids all pitched in and had a great time. Their favorites were pine cone people and animals, stick reindeer and paper snowflakes, chains and origami bells. I wish I had a digital camera back then!

Thank you both for reading and sharing your own experiences. One of my goals over the past month and a half is to keep Skye feeling overall happy and secure with some semblance of a regular schedule, lots of opportunities for playing with his friends and of course family time. It seems to be working as he is doing well.
Brenda, maybe you can make some of these crafts again and post some photos for us. There is a separate forum for holiday crafts. The origami bells sound (pun?) interesting with lots of potential for color and variation.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

Family Fun - Wireless & Unplugged

I created this cubit to share ways of motivating families, especially children, to get outside, and activities to do once everyone is outside. Being outdoors is a wonderfully fun and healthy activity. Let's share indoor unplugged activities, as well.
