What a cute idea and planter. Your son did well with his building. Hopefully, one day when the children are grown they will reflect back and realize how lucky they were to have somebody like you Lance to teach them all the things you do and what a great legacy to pass onto them for their future families. |

Thank you both; I appreciate the encouragement! Here is a book we read every year in the beginning of December: http://www.amazon.com/A-Gnomes-Christmas-Rien-Poortvliet/dp/... When the gnomes hear us read it, they share some of their customs, such as leaving a small gift under the pillow every morning. I find this allows more time to appreciate each present individually as opposed to the possible Christmas morning overload. Sometimes it is a cat or dog toy, as gnomes enjoy animals, or maybe a chocolate treat. Often they leave clues, like a small drawing, as to where to find something and it turns into a treasure hunt! Look and listen for the welfare of the whole people and have always in view not only the present but also the coming generations, even those whose faces are yet beneath the surface of the ground -- the unborn of the future Nation.
