When I got my iMAC, I was totally lost. I'm used to using Photopaint X2 in Windows (would love Adobe Phtoshop CS5 Extended), and went looking for an inexpensive alternative for the iMAC. After much hunting and trying, I found Pixelmator! Great program, great price ($59.00) and it's power-packed with lots of handy features. Its no Photoshop, but it is a well designed and versatile program. I'm still saving my milk and cookie money for Photoshop CS5 Extended in the meantime. smily

Amazon.com has it for 29.99: http://www.amazon.com/Smith-Micro-Software-Inc-PXMMBX2/dp/B0...

Give it a test run: http://www.pixelmator.com/

Like a lot of other artists, I'd LOVE to own the Adobe Master suite! But, I'd have to sell my firstborn to Rumpelstiltskin to get one! LOL!!!
Pixelmator is as good as it gets for the MAC without breaking the bank. It takes Photoshsop brushes too.

It's not perfect, but you can't beat the price!
You're welcome!

Sometimes you can find older versions of Adobe Creative Suites at very reasonable prices. I still use CS1 and am happy to have it. If you have a college student in the family, you can get the Education Version which is cheaper and only involves a copy of the student's ID to get it. Education version is no different than the regular version. I do wish I had a newer version of InDesign though. InDesign in CS1 is not compatible with the newer versions unlike Illustrator and Photoshop. It can be converted, but you have to jump through hoops if you exchange files with someone who has the newer version. I lost a nice little side job because of that.

I use the photopaint programs quite a bit. I had Photoshop in my laptop, but when I sent it to HP for display repair, they KEPT my hard drive and gave me a new one. They didn't wipe the old drive. They switched it out! There was nothing wrong with it! It had nothing to do with the display repair. I lost Photoshop, Microsoft Office and a bunch of other programs.

Now I'm into making movies and I'd love to have the entire suite, because the flow between applications would be smooth. Nothing like compatibility. However...unless I learn how to print 100.00 bills, I'll have to save my lunch money in a coffee can for 20 years! LOL!!!

No kids in college. No extra money lying around. But, I'm patient and can make do. Sticking tongue out

I see they have added Flash, and Dreamweaver among other stuff. I figured they would do something like that after they bought them from Macromedia. What a package! I'll stick with my stand alone Flash and Dreamweaver. I can see why you lust for it though. You could buy a used car for what they're asking. Wow!

If I was still working, my company would have bought it for me. Darn! Another reason why I should not have retired!

Well, I don't exactly lust for it. LOL!
It would open up a few more creative possibilities, though.

You must really know your stuff when it comes to graphic programing! I went to your cubit and it almost doesn't even look like a cubit until you scroll way down. It's awesome.

I've been at this for years...
I really enjoy working with computer graphics (frustrated artist).
This time I'm just having fun. My cubit is kind of like my playroom. I'm going to put all the stuff that won't fit in my attic there. Hilarious!
I went garbage picking today and found a lovely, Persian rug, so I'll post photos after its all cleaned up.
I'm encouraging people to become Master Garbage Pickers, as I've come across lovely things nobody else seems to want.

Thank you for your kind thoughts... I tip my hat to you.
