Is anyone experiencing Safari shut downs when browsing Youtube? I have had this happen several times now. |

Stormy, Have you tried deleting browsing history, cache, temp internet files? John |
|
|||
No, John, but I sure will. Thanks for the heads up. ![]() |

John, yes, I have done all of that and Youtube still causes Safari to close after too many viewings. |

Stormy, Which version of Safari are you using? Reports are that version 4 is working better on YouTube for some people. The new format of YouTube problems with Firefox and Safari was reported earlier this year. Things have gotten better for some users it seems. Do you experience the crashing when rolling over the related videos? John |

Now, I haven't noticed that John, but I will pay attention. I thought that it was happening when I clicked on a video. Safari 5.0.2 Thank you for your help. ![]() |

Stormy, Try to uninstall Adobe Flash, then download the latest one. See if this helps. John |

I did a simple google search for "Safari Youtube crash," and then "Safari 5.0.2 Youtube quits" and found the links below. I think there is some good advice in them. Another thing to try for info is to go to Apple's website, click Support, then Communities which will take you here http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa then, you can go to the forum for what you are having problems with and do a search. I have found a lot of answers by looking in Apple's discussion forums. Here is the Safari for Mac forum http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=876 Also take note of if your hangup comes at the end of a youtube video, when scrolling or moving your mouse across the youtube page, or at some other time during the play than the end. (this sentence made sense when I wrote it, but I am not sure it does now! LOL) I think I would definitely try creating a new user account and seeing if it happens when you log in as the new user. I am using 5.0.2 with Snow Leopard and have had no issues with Youtube. I'm thinking you have something on your system that is creating a conflict of some kind. Have you repaired permissions and run disk utility? Never hurts to try that. I was taught you should repair permissions every time you do any software update, or install.... run repair a couple times, then the verify disk a couple times after each software update/install. http://www.mac-help.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5354 http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=12527261 http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=26229... |
