It sounds great and its unusual for one to go from orange to red. Completely different from the fading from red that we typically see.

Yeah I just found a place that has put me on their shipping list. I really want to see this one. It looks different and should be pretty cool in a group of them.

Warren, I changed my name from Hanseycollie on DG to SkiffyZ on here - really like your photo. I am anxious to see how well the coneflowers I bought from you come back up this year. Just repotted the hens/chicks from you too - they are faring pretty well in my inside small greenhouse. I just want them to make it to spring to go to the garden outside! Hurray!

Hello Bubba1,
I am getting a list together of people that want it. I have it ordered to come in as plugs for April but do not want to collect any money until they arrive. If you want to be on the list c-mail me. I am charging $7.99/plug not including shipping but will gladly combine these with other plugs I have to offer on my web store - http://www.mcgperennials.com

I hope your winter is treating you well.

Well. It got down to 10 degrees here last night. The weatherman said they have had record snow levels this winter. Snow has not been quite as bad here, though we have had a lot of it. Another front with possibility of snow is coming in on Thursday. Lots of snow in Maine? Would like to see Maine someday. Would like to visit that whole area where our forefathers landed.

Our winter started out really well. We had a few good snow storms and it was cold but not bad...then we had a huge amount of rain for a couple of days in January with temps in the 40's-50's which melted all our snow. Now we have only a few spots here and there of hard icy type snow. Really killed the outdoor sliding, skiing, skating, snowmobiling etc. Just waiting for another snow storm or Spring. Which ever makes it first is fine by me...at least can still ice fish, lol.
I hope you do get a chance to come here. It is very pretty in all respect. From my house I can drive 30" - 45" to the ocean in the East then go to the west and be at the mountains or North with a lot of nature(hardly any people at all). It's all good.

Oh I like that hardly any people at all thing. Though I know its better for the city's economy to have more people here, I really miss how it was when I was a kid. You could safely ride your bike or walk anywhere. Now you can't even get down the isle at Walmart. Not a fish person though. Wish I did like fish. I'd be a lot skinnier. I've tried and tried. Just can stomache it unless its covered in fried batter, and then its not good for you.
I found your classified ad on the garden and visited your website. Though I have had purple coneflower in my west flower bed for years I am just now learning about them. Read in a thread that if you plant two different varieties of coneflower together they will be cross pollinated and seeds will not come true. Is this correct? If I planted a variety in my south flower bed and a variety in my east flower bed would they come true from seed? How far apart do they need to be planted to come true from seed?

Most of the newer varieties of Coneflower do not come back true to seed even if self pollinated. It's all in their genes. I did write a review guide on ebay regarding this if you want to read it. You can find it at this link: http://reviews.ebay.com/BUYING-ECHINACEA-SEED-VS-PLANTS_W0QQ...

Just copy and paste and it should get you there. I wrote it more for to help inform people who were buying seed for large sums of money on ebay vs. buying the plants.
I am not a writer so let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you! I will read it. I have seen echinacea seeds on ebay but have been leary to buy them because I doubted I would get what I was paying for.

Warren - I want one! Don't forget me. LOL. - Clint

I have some seeds from Hot Summer growing right now. I know they won't come true, but you'd be surprised the interesting plants you can get from the seeds of these new cultivars. Maybe I'll get a white that turns pink or some other crazy possibility. Don't order the seeds from Ebay at a high price though. There is always a person willing to send you some seeds they saved for a trade of even for free.
