Oh, I agree, how cute, they put a smile on my face. Smiling

Went to the big city today; we do that once or twice a year. I miss the shopping but I sure don't miss the traffic!

There are nine little chicks!! They are soooo cute! They wouldn't fit in that little container for long so we moved them out to the garage in a big trough with a heat lamp. Did I mention how cute they are? Hilarious! They are some chirpy little things but we couldn't hear them at night. Now, the cat could hear them and was very anxious to go check on them, and still is!! I still need to take some more pictures before they grow any more! Tomorrow!

Sorry, I've been a little preocuppied with seeds lately. (Ella's fault! Hilarious! ) These little chicks are growing so fast but not laying eggs yet! haha... hubby made a little crate for them and they are still living in the garage. It's so cold and rainy outside, we don't want to put them in with the other chickens yet. Not sure how this is going to all play out, just taking it one day at a time.

It's been a few days since I've taken a picture too. I need to take more pictures because I know they will be pretty big by the time my grandsons get here after Christmas! They'll surely want to see what they looked like as chicks.

This was taken last week while they were in the trough. They are getting prettier. I'm trying to see if I can tell which ones are roosters and which are hens...

Christine - I never could tell until they were at least a month old. Combs start to show pretty well then.

They sure do grow fast! Eggs.. now that's my favorite part!

Since the two hens went broodie, all of the other hens (except my crazy little LucyBell) stopped laying too! Blinking Only one egg in the nest box. Isn't that funny? I guess the other hens went into pseudo-broody mode! Hope it doesn't last too long!! Whistling

I wish I could have chickens.
I love eggs AND how good their scratchins are for the garden.
But if I got chickens, I'd have to give up my house rabbit and my kitties....
There's a limit of 5 animals per household here in the city.

Thumbs up Very nice!!

I have a 'system' for keeping track of the eggs! I use cartons, just like the ones store eggs come in that you get at the . When I put them in the carton, I start from the outside and make my way inside, once full I put the date. Then, when it comes time to use the eggs, I use the outside eggs first. Makes sense to me. I don't know why everyone acts like it's too hard. Rolling my eyes.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Hilarious!

My Willie. He is having problems these days adjusting to the new toddlers in the house and I would appreciate good thoughts sent our way as I try to find a right path through the options.
