I know by now you are probably sick of seeing this topic :o)

But I want to make sure I understand correctly. If I change my preferences to NOT watch the threads, then just forum and cubit watcher will come up on my home page. I am assuming these will still light up YES when there is a new post, not just a new thread?

If that is the case, then I can also remove 'watched' forums from my list and only have the cubits I've joined listed? I'm just trying to simplify my home page *Blush*

I did the same thing Annmarie. I had threads, forums and cubits being watched. My home page was 3 miles long and I was still missing things because I never made it to the bottom of the list. I finally realized that I didn't need to watch the threads or the forums. If I just watch the cubits, whenever something new happens, it turns to YES. Anything I have posted to automatically comes up in the watched thread list. That's a great thing because a more immediate response may be needed.

I must confess that before I figured this out, I unjoined many of the cubits I joined when I first got here. That dern list was just getting too long. I felt bad because it was showing up that I was no longer a member of so and so's cubit, so I turned that option off on my preferences. I will be much more apt to join cubits now knowing that the list will still be a manageable length.

As you can see, I have several of my own cubits. By the time I had all of my own forums watched, etc. well I was taking up most of that 3 mile stretch, but thought I needed to do that. Now, thanks to something I read that Dave posted the other day, I realize that only the cubit has to be watched. I remember thinking way back, Poor Dave's home page must be 50 miles long! Hilarious!

I don't watch any threads for this very reason. I just watch the cubits. Works great and my homepage is quite clean!

I agree I did get a bit lost at first, I have to remember to click back on the cubit after I read a thread, to see if there are other threads in there I need to read. But it is much nicer now Smiling
