A few people have been wondering whether we need to maintain some secrecy concerning cubits.org.

The answer is no...

I have absolutely no contractual obligations with IB, and as of Friday evening I am no longer associated with DG in any (professional) way. I'm still a member over there, and whether I'll continue posting to the site is something that I haven't yet decided.

Feel free to discuss cubits wherever you like, openly or private.

Don't say it's a new garden site, though, because it's not. It's a place where anybody can come and build their own community concerning whatever interests them.

Tomorrow we go back to invite only again for a while.

Thanks for "officially" clearing that up, Dave! I'm finding it sort of hard to know what's what right now, and I'm guessing I'm not the only one.

DG is still there for all of us just like Dave created it. It's many wonderful features are unique to it. There is no need to feel disloyal by visiting there and here. I am guessing that Dave and Trish themselves will enjoy using DG for their gardening related interests. After all, it is still the best of it's kind! We need to concentrate on exploring new areas here rather than trying to recreate something (DG) that is already there and functioning as usual.

Cubit's on the other hand is a whole new concept. We as members are able to help Dave mold it into shape by our input of ideas which he can sift through.

This isn't a situation calling for an "us against them" attitude. But rather a chance to expand our horizons in other directions. By doing that we will be growing ourselves and Dave/Trish will be able to continue this new enterprise with no unhappy distractions.

Wow, looks like a whole section of posts was deleted out over on DG, including one I made. And I saw someone mention a post you did Dave, something about "Long Live DG!", is that gone too?

I just went to check the threads and they all appear to still be there. Unless I'm not understanding which threads your all talking about?

Thread is my, my comment and a few others are gone. You can see where they were removed, a large block of time is missing and that's a very active thread.

Thanks Sue, I went back and now I see that there are indeed missing posts. I guess I thought you all were talking about the entire thread.

And Dave did a beautiful last farewell post over there and I saw why the posts were removed, someone was starting way to many 'Come to Cubits' threads in multiple forums so it was considered spamming, as such type of posts have always been so all posts and references were removed. Just a bit of house cleaning.
