The ability to place more than one photo in a post would be awesome Dave! Big Grin

I've always wanted this as I'm not savvy enough -yet- to do the collage thing.

I'm thinking this has been asked before though and there was a reason we couldn't. I'm sure dave will let us know Smiling

I agree

I would also like to see more than one photo per post...there should probably be a limit though. Smiling

Definitely a limit. I'll bet we could fit 3 nicely across the bottom of a post without stretching the page. Or 3 in the middle of a post...would be handy when explaining something...not having to keep replying to ourselves...

I would to suggest

1) the ability to select basics like italics , underlined and bold from either above or below the ever growing list of emoticons instead of needing to type in the BBC codes before and after the words/ phrases to be underlined , italicized or emboldened ...

2) the ability to move just selected posts to another forum instead of being required to move an entire thread

Thanks

Ron, you can split a thread too. If you catch it as soon as the post you want to split happens....

Hi Lee Ann - yes, I know a thread can be split and then the *new* thread can be moved into a different forum , but I'd still like to be able to move a post into a *pre-existing* thread that may be located in a different forum...it seems others have also requested this option be available to individual cubit owners...

I realize my requests should have been posted in the cubit owner issue forum...

Thanks (!)

Ron, I have requested being able to move a post to a different thread without splitting it. I am not sure why, but it seems this will not be available to us. It seems that there are always times when you go look at your cubit and someone has posted a question that would be better off in another thread, but then others followed with posts on the original topic.

I love the idea of a button for italic, bold etc. instead of having to use code.

And, more than one photo - three seems like it would be plenty

There is a way to embed multiple images in one post, but it's not as easy as clicking Browse.

See, the system is architected with a hard limit of one upload per post, and that's not easily changed without making some big fundamental changes and I'm not excited about that at the moment.

But, here's what you can do. Upload your photo into the system somewhere, and then you can embed it using the [ lightbox ] tag. Here's the example of how it works. Let's say I want to embed this image:

http://cubits.org/pics/2010-02-13/dave/499cb2.jpg

I would enter:

[ lightbox ]2010-02-13/dave/499cb2[ /lightbox ]

because the filename of the image starts with the date and ends with the ".jpg"

Now, sometimes images end with something like "-175.jpg" or "-100.jpg". In cases like that, remove the "-175.jpg".

So, the above tag looks like this:

Thumb of 2010-02-13/dave/499cb2

You can embed as many lightbox images as you wish!

Sounds like a good way to do it...and easier than you having to change the code.
Thanks yet again Dave! Smiling

It's not the most user friendly system in the world and I definitely think there's room for improvement, but at least with this lightbox tag it is in fact possible.

Vic,
I don't think I got anywhere. Did you not get the box with the red "X" in it? I thought maybe the photos were too large but that didn't seem to be the problem.

did you remember to remove the spaces he put in so we could see his string? [lightbox] would be the way it should look when you type it in.
