Perpetually happy!
Here we go. Have fun!

Old thread:

How to do it:
A Community Collaboration

You need to have the photos somewhere on Cubits. Either in a forum or, best idea, c-mail them to yourself. Put them somewhere safe because if they get deleted or removed for any reason they'll vanish from your new, snazzy, multiple photo post. Then, you have to have multiple windows open, one for the post you're creating and one for locating your photos. What you need is the web address for the location of your pictures. Easiest way to do that is to right click on the photo and select "open in new window," then you can copy the url address, like this:

http://cubits.org/pics/2010-06-27/woofie/b703f2.jpg
http://cubits.org/pics/2010-06-27/woofie/466508.jpg

Then you erase most of the address so it looks like this: 2010-06-27/woofie/b703f2 and this 2010-06-27/woofie/466508

Surround each remaining address with the lightbox commands:
[ lightbox ] 2010-06-27/woofie/b703f2 [ /lightbox ] [ lightbox ] 2010-06-27/woofie/466508 [ /lightbox ]
(I put in spaces so you can see the command line; there should be no spaces)

If you want them side by side, put the commands on the same line. If you want them in a line, do a return after each. It sounds like a lot of fiddling, but it's really pretty quick once you get used to it. It's kind of fun to play with anyway.

That looks really good, Kat!

And just as with your trip, this looks like a mini-article.

The beauty of that is that you might want to have an article that's pertinent to your own Cubit, not the entire membership. So this Feature provides that capability.

I'm a dial-upper and the multiple photos don't slow me down. Could someone please synopsize the instructions for the multiple picture posts? I'm still not clear on how/where the picture files need to be located to fetch them for the lightbox. The previous thread is so long it is hard to go back and find the nitty-gritty.

Anywhere in Cubits, or your cmail. Just can't delete the original photo or you will lose the photo in the multiply photo post.
Here is what you do. First the photo has to be somewhere in Cubits. Can be in a thread, database, or sent to your email.
Next right click on photo and choose Open link in a new window. When that window opens with the picture, copy the url address (you will only want the part that starts with the date all the way to the end of url address, minus the .jpeg.
url: http://cubits.org/sedumandsempervivum/pics/2010-06-08/valley...
part you want from this address: 2010-06-08/valleylynn/fc6c00
Here is the code: [ lightbox ]2010-06-08/valleylynn/fc6c00[ /lightbox ]
You place this code in your post. You can line them up side by side or on above the other. You can do many pictures this way. Here is a couple of links showing what can be done in a thread post.

It's mind boggling what can be done with this new feature. Can't wait to see how you use it with your wonderful imagination and creativity. thumbsup
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, don't forget to take the spaces out of the code. I had to put them in so it would show the code for you.

I am in Internet Explorer at the moment; not Firefox. I don't know if this makes a difference.

I put the mouse over your picture in the above post and did not click on it with the left mouse button

Instead I clicked the right mouse button and a menu popped up:
Open Link
Open Link in New Tab
Open Link in New Window

I chose Open Link in New Window

Then I right clicked and copied the url
Here it is with some spaces added in:

http://cubits.org/pics/ 2010-06-16/vic/8ea3be .jpg
Now add:
[ light box ] [ /lightbox ]

Add between that:

[ light box ] 2010-06-16/vic/8ea3be [ /lightbox ]

Remove all the spaces:
Thumb of 2010-06-16/vic/8ea3be

Edited to say this was my explanation how to do it in the other thread and it worked for me.
