I wrote a note and put a link in this email. If you try this notice that once you paste a link, your cursor remains at the end of the link, not on the next line down You have to press Enter to be on the next line down.

See where the red line is? Your cursor should not be there when you go to upload a photo. And I'll show you why.

By not going to the next line down Before I added the picture, it butted up behind the link I was sending to Frank.

It's in the preview mode in this picture. The next post will show you what it did by not having a space.

I clicked on Finish and this picture shows how I broke the lightbox. If I click on that string it takes me to the link I was sending Frank but you can see no picture showed up.

Hi Lee Anne,

There is more than one thing going on here, in my opinion. I have been working around the different challenges.

But now my members are frustrated and losing confidence in using this. I don't have the time to help each one on an individual basis.

So I decided that I will take the time to document when something happens and post here. Then if someone asks why such and such is not working, they can be sent a link to here for the explanation.

I just hope I have made it clear.

The light box must not be on the same line with any other characters or it may get pushed into a position that you don't want it in . . . and in the case of this email with a link in it . . . the link will break the lightbox code

There are other things we have had to learn about on cubits . . . we can learn this too so we can enjoy this beautiful feature.

Thanks, Arlene. Thumbs up

In my cubit, we have a Forum called "Getting Around For Users"

When Dave first started the Multiple picture in a post feature, we set up a thread where we tried to explain how to do it. That thread became a practise area where members could help each other to try it. One by one the active posters ventured in there to try it out. Everyone joined in the commentary to help the members figure out how to make the posts, and align the photos. Then everyone figured out that all images now needed some form of realignment. People came up with different suggestions for working around the problems,. Now people are getting used to the idea of going to that forum and using the group to work through these kinds of issues. It works very well for all of us.

What about "peviewing" before posting?

Previewing before posting is how I figured out what was happening. You definitely will have more success if you preview everything you do because that will help you understand how things work.

I believe all three screen shots above are in the preview mode to show examples of what it looks like.

The point of this post is that if you start a post, type a bunch of stuff, before or after uploading an image, previewing it will head off goofy things happening.

And if you want your picture centered on the page, this is a good time to add the bb code on either side of the [ lightbox] thingy.

In front:

[ center] remove the space after the first bracket

Behind:

[ /center] remove the space after the first bracket.

[ center]This is the way it would look[ /center] when you type it in.

Remove the spaces and here it is.

This is the way it would look

I know YOU know how to center; this is in case someone else comes along.

That's a little "snipey" don't you think? Smiling

I appreciate all the help everybody provides and I only mentioned to preview, as it's an uncomplicated method of fixing this problem!

Apologies; I edited that comment out; probably wasn't necessary.

Getting back on track:
After your post about need to Preview, I realized that especially in C-mails we need to do it because we can't edit Cmails.

Most important to point out

Thank you for making the point and clearing it up, Katg.

No problem Arlene. The real reason I added this was because I was doing a C-Mail Blast with photo's to my Container Gardening Members the day before and was really glad I previewed because things were not showing where they should be. It was just so easy to fix though and I would rather do that than have Dave take this fantastic feature away because some Members are frustrated with it. You have to admit that it is a lot easier than copying and imbedding your own lightbox codes!
