The direction that we're leaning right now (and we still have to decide for sure) is that each seller will create their own cubit, and enable the "store" module.

All of the stores will be linked together.

Very similar to the database feature. You can create a cubit with just a database, and link it with the master database.

Sounds good. I have 2 cubits right now with free advertising on both yet no one takes advantage of it so I will probably shut them down and just concentrate on a personal one for my plants & jewelry.

Is this thread open for all to see, or just cubit owners?

I have some people in my cubit I know are interested in selling their irises next year, and I'll send them over to read if it's open.

I think it's very exciting!

A bunch of hours ago, Stralight1153 asked a question, and no one addressed it. But I think the answer was indicated in one of Trish's earlier comments.

" We were thinking 3.5% with no listing fee, so you can take your items off and put them on with no fees"

Right, I had already addressed that. No listing fees, so Ella's question didn't wasn't really an issue.

LOL, Naomi!

I think Naomi is all for it. And I bet she's going to sell irises! Good ones too.

Ok, I would like to know if this is acceptable, if it is, It may solve some problems for folks who don't want to open a whole store and maintain it or have a cubit.

I am a store, like a store I am going to try and fill it with as much merchandise as I can and a variety of things. If I wanted to get my product out in some stores, I went to them, I paid so much to rent a shelf or so many square feet in some cases. I still had to maintain that shelf in that store, keeping it stocked and cleaned.

As long as I realize I am going to have to do the paperwork and be responsible to the commerce office for fees of sold items, is there a problem with me or any other cubit letting others rent space in our store.

I think what I am asking is can Dave develop each cubit store so that we could allow sub-vendors, is that the right word??

Where we could post our own items and then like on how we have the databases the option to pre-approve items to go into cubit commerce store.

I have a classified ad section now where folks can post items themselves. I pre-appove the ads and photo's and then let them upload the ad themselves. They can't take it down or make changes, only I can do that. http://cubits.org/ellasgarden/forums/view/leftoversforsale/

On the cubit commerce store, it would be nice to be able to have the ability to move things around. So that maybe you want folks to see all bath stuff together, and then maybe all seed together. I know I have gone to some selling sites that have a lot of items and your looking for a specific item and your looking at 50 things and they just all mixed up in a jumble.

I have The Mall Shopping Stores Forum which will be opening in my cubit in the morning. That is mainly for folks who will just have one or a couple of items. I also had been working for awhile on designing a bigger Mall Shopping Stores area for folks that had a lot of items and wanted more of a personal looking place to sell items.

I will be keeping my regular Mall Shopping Stores open in the forum, but would like to be able to incorporate those folks that want to, from my Pages The Shopping Mall Stores into the cubit commerce store.

I have hit the publish button, so you all can see what I have done and kind of what I am talking about. It may also give folks an idea of things to help list for what we want or need in the cubit-commerce store.

http://cubits.org/ellasgarden/pages/270/ just have the thumbnail for the moment, the banner to replace is in production. This just a test.

I sure when Dave put sit together he would like to have everything all ironed out before he opens it. Sometimes you don't even realize what you want before you even try and do a store.

Those of you with databases, look how long it took use to get all the things we needed and wanted and the change s we needed to make.

For the cubit-commerce store we want to have everything all nice and properly working before we have the first open to the public folks. Nothing going to be more frustrating to the customers than we open the commerce store doors and discover opps we needed this or that especially since there will be such a variety of items and needs for everybody.

Those of you thinking of selling might consider going to your pages and practicing. It will really help you for coming here and putting out the ideas and suggestions you may need now or in the future for the cubit commerce store.

Trish:

I use an HTML formatting, would this work in building a cubit website for selling?

Marti and I have talked about opening a web "store" for selling her decorated gourds and my crafted items. I do some jewelry, polymar clay items, sewing and items used by the spiritual earth based friends (wands, dream catchers, robes, just to name a few).
We would like it under one store for ease of editing, and sice we are sisters there would be no problem in the finance department.

Is this something that would work within this new cubit of Mall Stores?

Thanks

Dorothy. I sure Trish come in a few, to answer, but i can tell you this that whatever Dave builds for us it will be great and something we can all be proud of having our names attached too. I know that however he designs it, he will make it so that all of us will be able to use it with ease and Trish and Dave are also around to give support and help answer questions or problems. I'm definitely in if we can set up just a "storefront" Cubit as described by Zanymuse in her post above: http://cubits.org/cubits/thread/view_post/360778/

Marti says it is worth us looking into and seeing just how we can set up our idea...so I guess we are in for now.

Let us know what you need from us as the construction phases come about.

Great discussions already happening! Thank you all for driving this initial conversation.

Yes, Zany really said it all very well and correctly:

Soon, I'd like to create a group of names of people who are definitely going to be selling here at Cubits. I'd like to put this group together and make a new forum for us to talk about the "nitty gritty" of what we're doing here.

Who's in?
