We enjoy breeding new dahlias!
Benny is way ahead of us on picotee. We had a fairly nice one about 6 years ago, but no one was very excited about that color pattern then and we did not keep it beyond the second year. One of the prettiest dahlias I have ever grown was called "Tender Moments" and it was a creamy white flower with lavender pink picotee edges. It was a poorly formed flower of semi cactus, informal decorative, formal decorative all mixed up. I searched for a picture on my computer and the internet to no avail.
We like to place a sign on our porch that says: We are in the garden. Really, we are always in the garden.
