i'm not sure what you call it, but there are a few waterlily types that have a distinct spiral pattern to the petals. Carolina Wagemans was one but it was a lousy tuber maker for me. it was a lovely buff orangey salmon. the 2nd picture showing the swirl at the center is one i took years ago and put onto Flickr.
