Oh Linda...if you only knew the story of Ellis. Not ever in the plan (what is that anyway?) but tripped me up for way too long to make a normal life (what is that anyway?). Thanks. The floor is a very nice one. I was going to put the same in the kitchen but when I started pulling up floors and subfloors, I ended up with an ash base. That was never intended to be a floor itself, it's soft and slivers, but it is humble. I left it alone for a couple of years musing about what to do but it is level with the dining room (oak hardwood) floor and the adjacent hallway so I sanded the best that I could, put down some stain just to see, then when I decided it suited the cottage, I did poly it. It's a bit rugged but especially in the winter, it feels so warm and soft under my morning feet that coffee tastes better.

WOOHOO the Habitat for Humanity posted today they are getting 500 NEW cabinets in Friday ... Making a run to Waco Sat .. keeping fingers crossed they have what(or even close) im wanting 50 to 70% off Lowes prices
Linda ill be at the door at 9:00 doing the open open open I talked to one of the girls there and they are all makes & colors so im sure ill find some if just for the laundry/mud roon
its a 2 hour drive.. we were going to go to day ( just to shop it )till I saw the post about the cabinets ...

Habitat for Humanity is picking up 500 cabinets at Lowe's today will have them for sale Sat morning ..
im guessing its a write off for lowes.
Habitat for Humanity has resell stores new & used building supplies the money goes to building new homes
Ok so we got there at 9:05... and there were cabinets everywhere & they still had 2 truck loads to be unloaded,
they had some that would work for us. They were the Oak with oak finish. & unfinished oak. so ill have to finish about half of them . but for the price I would do them all... they are not only made in the USA but made right here in Texas
JC jiggled the numbers to make sizes fit the space ... The Laundry room now has Cabinets all the way up to the 10' ceiling on both sides

then as a topper we found a deep sink for the mudroom side of the laundry. This Really Litup JC's Face its a $1200.00 sink $122.50 is what we paid
we will be going back to find more treasures
