Very interesting, that deer must have been raised by someone. I imagine the dog was a bit perturbed at being held on to, though! I figured it was raised by someone also. My dad had one years ago that came up as an orphan and they took care of it to the best of their ability. It was finally shot by a local hunter and it just killed us all when it happened. When they are out there running free, that is the chance you take. A thousand words couldn't begin to tell the story in these pictures. Lily is a Great Dane that has been blind since a bizarre medical condition required that she have both eyes removed. For the last 5 years, Maddison, another Great Dane, has been her sight. The two are, of course, inseparable. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Please join me at the following Websites: Friendship Corner ~ The Gathering Place ~ Dogs - Everything You Ever Wanted to Know |

Good photo. The kitty is about as big as the dog's foot! My kitties and dogs are thinking about playing with each other but the size difference still makes it a challenge - one wrong step by a dog and a cat is squished! Once again, you show wisdom way beyond your years. My thoughts when viewing that picture were that the kitten should have never been left that close to that big dog for the very reasons you mentioned. When Sophie wants to escape for a while, she sits at the top of the old fort/slide...we had to move it well away from the fence as she discovered she could hop over onto the rack that holds flower pots and AWAY!![]() But it is a great place for a sunny nap...undisturbed. ![]() What I don't know is why books are written. |

AWWWW! How darling. How does she get down, by the slide or the steps or by jumping? Please join me at the following Websites: Friendship Corner ~ The Gathering Place ~ Dogs - Everything You Ever Wanted to Know |

She sort of oozes down the slide...grin. She runs up it to get to the top. Sophie is a very smart little rascal....and a pig-dog. grin What I don't know is why books are written. |

She is precious. It is always fun having dogs like that who use their imaginations rather than just doing normal dog stuff like breathing, eating, sleeping and howling. ![]() Please join me at the following Websites: Friendship Corner ~ The Gathering Place ~ Dogs - Everything You Ever Wanted to Know |

We have to do daily nose washes as she always has dirt all over hers....she may be the world's first truffle hound. Grin She is so sweet and takes care of her litter mate Benny. He has been blind since birth and she bosses him around like an old broody hen. What I don't know is why books are written. |

Awwww! Let's hear more about the blind dog and how she takes care of him. More photos would be lovely. Please join me at the following Websites: Friendship Corner ~ The Gathering Place ~ Dogs - Everything You Ever Wanted to Know |

Benny is a classic tall Beagle, black and tan. Their parents and grandparents were all Champions of one sort or another. He is true to his parentage...would love to ramble and run, and has driven us to distraction trying to keep him contained. The little beggar is fast as greased lightning and if not for Sophie staying on his tail/trail I fear we would have lost him many times over. We used to fuss at her for digging under the fence until one day I discovered Benny was the culprit...she was just along for backup. She will snitch treats from him...then feel guilty and give them back...just slightly nibbled. If a stray or stranger comes into the yard, she always places herself between Benny and them, even though he is the larger of the two. They will be 11 in April, so she has done a great job since we got them as puppies. This pic of Benny shows off his Charlie Chaplin mustache. ![]() What I don't know is why books are written. |

Wonderful stories! |

I could read all about them all day. Tell us more if you have time. We had a precious begal that lived for 14 years. She was a digger and dug out several times and probably barely survived the traffic in our area before someone rescued her. Thankfully neighbors read her tag and called and kept her till we could go pick her up. We finally created a jail of a yard that had heavy duty wire, concrete blocks, tree roots or whatever else we could put around the entire yard below the ground level that would keep her from digging out. Loved that dog...... Please join me at the following Websites: Friendship Corner ~ The Gathering Place ~ Dogs - Everything You Ever Wanted to Know |

Thanks...I love both these little rascals. Right now they are in mourning for our springer Chester who passed away just before New Year's. Poor Benny can't find his Best Buddy and Sophie just knows we are hiding Chet from her. She tried to bury his food dish under her bed. Benny just sat at the gate a howled and bayed until I had to pick him up and bring him inside....we all cried together. What I don't know is why books are written. |

Awww, They know when part of their pack is missing. So sad for them and for the humans who love the departed one. Please join me at the following Websites: Friendship Corner ~ The Gathering Place ~ Dogs - Everything You Ever Wanted to Know |
