Here's a new one and this is the first open flower although it's not fully open yet. The orange is deeper and different than Tiki Torch or Sundown. I like it a lot.

As it matures it will be a knockout I'm sure. I'll post more when it fully opens. I haven't seen this one discussed here at all and found it locally. The plant is a compact grower and I have it in a 12" pot. Before I over-winter it I may move it into a larger container then put it my unheated garage for safe keeping. This looks like a keeper.

Here is my Hot Coral in its pot. It grows very well in a pot and is very compact. Due to its compact habit it's hard to count the number of basal branches on there now but I think I counted 4. However, there may be one or two more.

Bob - I think that means it's a keeper! Excellent! Now I know these Cheyenne Spirit seeds were worth it!

Remember too that this plant was hailed on as it wasn't protected in any way. Sandy Yellow is slightly smaller but that may be growing conditions and or location. This week was its first bloom but Hot Coral bloomed before the hail. I'm suspecting different locations is the reason because they were both planted at the same time.

HD? I'll go by mine Monday and look. I was by there but didn't stop on Thursday and I'm kicking myself for not stopping to look. Here they've only had the Pow Wow plants, Magnus and Prairie Splendor.

My HD typically has nothing at all... But I was there to get other stuff and low and behold they had these and 2 gallon pots of 'amber mist'.. So I snagged an 'amber mist'. I will post shots later.. Looks similar to harvest moon

I may even go there tomorrow! That's a beautiful plant if it's anything like on Darwin Perennials site. That would be a great addition to my collection. I tip my hat to you.

I found one this week , will have to wait a week or so to see it flower. Clint the article I read said they come from the Pow Wow series.

Does C. Spirt come from the Pow Wow also?

Yes, they are the same ones who made PowWow. They Cheyenne Spirit seeds are their new ones. I read that they went to the fields where those are grown and chose from them to make the Sombrero series. You can plant the seed and select your own. I can't wait to select mine next year.

Clint, do you suspect CS "red" to reproduce red, white to reproduce white, and so on? In other words those of us with CS seedlings that bloom next year - can we expect them to be like the package of seeds and produce different colors or not?
