These have the best oranges that hold out in the sun fairly well

The Tikki Torch would go really well beside NJ Bob's Summer Breeze. I haven't seen an actual Tiki Torch--like the orange.

Nevermore44, what are the lavender and white flowers behind the Tiki Torch?

Just your run of the mill salvia. Does great then gets flattened by rain... I chop it to the ground and get another show later in the year

Is that a year old plant? I planted another one this spring but it's still very young. If mine doesn't survive this year I'm giving up. For 4 years now I've tried growing Tiki Torch but none made it past the first year.
There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore looking like an idiot.

This one is from last year. My other tiki torch is into its third year though and doing well.

Here's my older one. These do seem more susceptible to rot then others. I have had individual stems rot at the base.

Nevermore 44, do you have landscape fabric under your coneflowers? How do you keep the weeds out? Your flower beds are gorgeous and I don't ever see weeds.

Right now, I have weeds in the two 5 or 6 feet diameter block planters. I have weeds in the long row of coneflowers that are planted in the ground. Both areas are waiting for my attention again.

Landscape fabric is evil stuff.... cause once you put any mulch on top... that degrades a bit over each season.... The weeds will come regardless... And now you have inorganic plastic to deal with forever in you beds. The only benefit would be that the weeds might be easier to pull up if you you couldn't keep up with them (since their roots wouldn't be able to anchor to the ground).

I use leave mulch/mold... But I get plenty of weeds too. I try to get them before they get a foothold like we all do. The ech beds this year are so grown together though... The weeds don't have a chance.

Very nice Nevermore. You have a great method of keeping the weeds out. Thumbs up

Here is my first Tiki of the year. My other plant has mites pretty bad right so I have cut many of the buds off. Thumbs down

Nevermore44 and Coneflower620, both of your pictures of Tiki Torch show another very pretty coneflower.

Got some mite problems here but still love the color. Have had these three years, seem to be smaller blooms this year a little bit.

I think that some Cheyenne Spirit look as good or better. Unfortunately you have to find the right one. I was lucky enough to get this one.

After seeing these pictures, I'm very happy to say I have a plug of Tiki Torch. Hope it makes it. I love how it glows.
