Here is one of my 5 Summer Salsas that I bought this year. This one was rather weather worn when I bought it a few weeks ago but it was a great value for $2. When I brought it home I cut all of the blooms off and planted it in a new tub with the other 3. The color is slightly warmer than normal since it was late evening.

Kansas Bob, your Summer Salsa looks like it is making a really good recovery since you said it was "rather weather worn" when you bought it. $2.00---a bargain.

I think that it is going to be a very good variety. Lowe's only got one shipment and I snapped up 5, of them. Hurray!

I haven't seen these at Lowes here yet, but I'll keep checking like clockwork. LOL.

Unless your Lowes is lucky there won't be any more this year. My Lowes called their nursery in Oklahoma more than a week ago and was told that they had none to ship. Again, you might get lucky but I doubt there will be more until next year. I actually ended up with 6. It's a nice plant.

No. They're between cycles right now but I'm sure that they will bloom again soon. I removed all of the blooms. There is a lot of new growth though.

I've been hit hard by mites and have had to remove many buds including Summer Salsa. After removing a couple of cycles of buds that seems to solve the problem for awhile on that plant. I hate to spray so removing buds seems to be the only solution.

We haven't had many mites this year. Thank GOD. It could be due to all the cool weather and rain. I think those mites like dry, hot weather. I'm not sure, but I think they do.
