All of these seedlings are in their second year. I planted them in a side of my veggie bed so that they grown faster and get consistent care through the year. They all have a good amount of blooms on them so i am excited to see if i get anything interesting. Most from op seeds from my "daddy long legs" cross i have from years back.

This is the first bloom that is starting to open. It has the nice bi-color "ness" going for it so far... and some fluting of the petals. Hopefully it will hold some of the color when it completely opens.... but i bet it will gray out to a blah color.

You have quite a few of them. They look green and healthy.

That's a good idea to keep the coneflowers in a designated area.

Well it's quite a fluted form.

The rest of the plants all are getting close to bloom too... and are quite a bit more robust then the echs in my official "ech" beds. I am sure that the raised bed gives them a nice head start with the quick draining soil that is rich soil for a foot. And the bed heats up quicker in the spring

I like it. Do you know what the parent plant was?

I agree I like it. When you grow hybrid seeds you never know what you will get.

Well I got two whites in the hybrid bed.... though they are standard looking form. And then I got one that is just opening... looks like an orange/yellow. And then the wavy looking one too. I will tag these to keep and grow on next year.

I like the yellow. I discovered some seeds that I harvested last year that were labeled in paper bags and planted them in small pots this week. Maybe a few will germinate and grow.

Kinda neat, the petals are highly serrated at the ends.. and the center has a slight pink flush near the cone.

You get very interesting looking crosses, mine always end up looking like regular purple ones.
