Here are two second year Secret Glows. They have a great school bus yellow color and lots of blooms. My only complaint is the stems are rather thin and weak and they needed support cages to keep everything upright. Still has to be the best yellow double imo. Not the clearest pictures due to mosquitoes tearing me apart! Grumbling Angry

I added Secret Glow to my purchase next year list. Lee, yours have lots of blooms on them. There are not too many double yellow coneflowers.

Some of the mosquitos from central Missouri must have migrated to Wisconsin. We were just talking a few nights ago about how there doesn't seem to be so many mosquitos this year.

Nice looking for a double yellow.

Side note. Are you shooting with an iphone?

NJBob, those deer seem to really be a problem. It is pretty crazy how many blooms these have. We have had a lot of rain here which of course is great...for mosquitoes. Thanks Nevermore. I am actually shooting this year with a Samsung Note 3. Love the big screen and beautiful photos. Not including these Secret Glow photos, camera was shaking too much.
This pic of Flamenco Orange is a great one taken with the Note 3. I think the Samsung take much better pics than Iphones. Their clarity is terrific.

I am just noticing the heavy blue cast you got on this shot. My iphone was doing the same thing when i would have a single type of bloom surrounded by all green. The phones tries to auto correct the color based on the subject... which for the iphone they call "white balance". I ended up downloading another camera app call "Camera+" which allows you to manually set the "white balance" and get better colors on these plant shots.

Got ya Nevermore. The shot was taken rather late in the day. My phone does have a white balance adjustment but I just shot this in auto mode.

Now that looks great. The color balance is right and you can see the yellow. How old is it?

Think I'll try to buy a couple through Mama Jack's cubit/sale for $5.50 ea. I think you get plug sized plants but for the price it's worth a try.

Do you have to support it? I have to support Hot Summer or it falls over. The color is fantastic.

It does need support now, hoping it will get better as a bigger plant.

That's a really pretty yellow double.

If they overwinter for you and NJ Bob, it seems like they should make it in Missouri.
I played it super safe this growing season and only ordered varieties that I already had that have overwintered here.
