There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore looking like an idiot.

Kansas Bob, do you have any hummingbirds that come around your yard? Your red flowers should attract them.

Both of your coneflowers are pretty.

No coneflowers blooming here yet, not even close.

This red isn't quite as red as the photo appears. I photographed it late afternoon so the red is more intense than at mid-day. Here is the same flower after I enhanced it. This one too was late afternoon,730ish. Not necessarily an accurate rendition but I didn't intend for it to be.

I haven't seen any yet and it may be too early. This year I have lots of hummingbird attractors though.A few if my cones are close to blooming, very close. So far only my new plants have open flowers.

This picture from today is more representative of the true color of this variety. It's a very attractive red and I like it, it's a winner in my book.

Today is more than 2 weeks since I posted the 1st picture of Dixie Scarlet and here is the same bloom as the original. I am really impressed with the Dixie series. Definitely a keeper. I love the red cone.

It's hard to beat a red flower. It's keeping its red for a long time.

I agree with you.

The Dixie series is a winner! Any flower that holds color this long and looks this good is a winner. I'm posting Dixie Blaze from today and it looks great too, then soon Dixie Belle but not today.

Does the Dixie Belle have dark stems?

I have one that is blooming and it might be a Dixie Belle. If it is its a real showy color and is very pretty.

I wish I would have ordered another. I think something dug mine up . Was doing some garden work and all I see is a hole where it used to be.

Well I found it on the other side of garden today - at least I think it is it. It looks real sad , but I replanted and will see what happens.

For a 3rd year plant it is on the small side but does have a nice color.

Unfortunately I have no Dixie series left and I had many. Scarlet is a good one. I'm glad to know that you still have them.
