There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore looking like an idiot.

Oh think, that's nice of you, but probably not. I just have too many coneflowers- they're literallly taking over my yard. Between those I've bought, and those I started from seeds, and volunteers...

Who knows? It's a volunteer so it could be any kind of mutt. But the white that I grew in the past (wintersowed) was White Swan. It's been gone for several years but this could have been from the long buried seed bank in my yard. Or it could be a cross from any of the multitude of echs in my yard.

I planted and have a partial tray of some variety of the taller Black Eyed Susans. Karen, after seeing your picture I think I may plant it in with some coneflowers. This 90 degree weather kind of makes it hard to plant flowers.

I agree with you but I've been doing it regardless, usually later in the day. Today I planted 2-2gal. blueberry bushes that I picked up (can you say "stole") from Lowes. They were each $30 plants yet I negotiated and got both for $20. You guessed it, they're in 20" pots. Tuesday I planted 3 of the 4 echs from my last order. 95 degrees takes the enjoyment out of working with plants though.

If you're planting in extreme heat, shading the plant at the hottest part of the day can be helpful. Lawn chairs work well.

Karen, you got a good buy on your blueberry bushes.

In the near future, I'm going to have to start setting out some of the plants I have that need to be put out.

Sorry, Vicki, I'm the one that bought them and yes, that was a tremendous buy. I try to watch for plants that I might want to buy and wait until they've had them at least 2 weeks then ask if they'll mark them down. I had already bought 3 of these a while back but recently noticed that they still had 6 so I asked if they'd sell 2 for $20.

At the Lowe's here they had some Hellebore out of bloom, so I asked and she told me you'll just have to come back every day till I decide to mark them down. So I guess none for me, what was on their rack was not worth the dollar they were asking.
