Another 2nd year plant that I bought at Lowes. I'm impressed with the deep rich orange color which I don't remember from last year. A sturdy, erect plant whose flowers don't droop. It's not real tall or wide but a good bloomer.

There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore looking like an idiot.

This is perhaps a better representation of Adobe Orange.
The color is very intense and compares to Hot Papaya.

A very pretty color I was really hoping this one would have made it.

Mine is in a 14" pot and overwintered in a unheated garage so I think mine is a strong one. I was hesitant to buy it but I'm glad that I did. The color was not this deep last year.

I bought another one today in a quart pot for $8. My first one is survived its 2nd winter in my garage.

Do you already have coneflowers coming up?

All of my cones are up. Some are more up than others though.

I looked when I was mowing the yard yesterday late afternoon. I didn't see any coneflowers coming up yet. It's been chilly here for quite a few days it seems.

I really do not expect to see any till the beginning of May. Bulbs have not even broken ground here yet.

I've seen a few coneflowers coming up. Hopefully it is still early for I haven't seen a whole lot coming up. My flower beds are all a mess and will probably stay that way for a few more days.

The first leaf of Pink Double Delight is starting to open. Seems like it is always the first each season.
