The actual color isn't quite as saturated as this picture.

Pretty, I just ordered one yesterday. Does it open up more of an orange color?

No. It stays reddish pink. Interestingly enough the illustration on the tag shows some yellow on the petal edges but I'm not seeing it on mine.

Most of the advertised pictures show orange on the outer edge with a pink in the middle. But it seems very few of these 2 tone flowers ever turn out that way. Or if they do like Mama Mia and Evening Glow the color change is so fast if you miss a day it has already changed.

I have the same plant which is a year old and has bloomed once this year and it now has 2 buds opening soon. It will be good to compare the two to see if there is any difference. I'll get a photo of it and post it here. The picture here is a young plant from 2017.

I think that it's not tagged right. My other one is almost open and is not the same color. I'll know more in a couple of days.

Now, on the same plant, is the correct color. Confused

That's a pretty multicolor flower.

At least in my yard, the flowering season for coneflowers is over.

Most are finished. I thought this one was not going to flower this year then 4 flowers showed up. A nice Fall surprise.

NJ Bob, have you had any problems with Japanese Beetles getting on your plants and flowers?

This has not been a good season for flowers in this area. It's been too dry, too hot, and bugs. My coneflowers were pathetic this year. I still have have a few of the ones I started from seed this spring. I need to get them into a permanent location. Starting this weekend they are calling for mid 90s with heat indexes of 100. There are quite a few days of this coming up.

This has been the best year for Echinacea that I can remember in a very long time. No lack of rain in this area and even the mites were not bad this year. The Japanese Beetles did their usual job on the Hibiscus and Canna but have never bothered the Echies. We are also supposed to get hot next week but if it keeps raining the way it has been it should not be a problem. I think I only had to water the garden once this whole Summer.

All the rain actually caused rotting on a lot of my flowers. Mite damage was pretty bad, too, but then I don't use any pesticides. Shrug!

I do not use them on much , just the Hibiscus since the Japanese Beetles will wipe them out in no time.

What do you use on the hibiscus Bob?

I only have 2 hibiscus left. One looked pretty good this year. The deer ate the other. Grumbling
