Loretta I would very much recommend not letting any of your plugs flower . I find that even 4 inch pot size Echinacea do not overwinter if I let them flower their first year. Also my luck with Fall planting has had very poor results. The plants are more expensive but for me buying 1 gallon plants and getting them in the ground before Aug. has given me good results. The one garden center here brings in over 30 kinds each year so I usually have a good selection to choose from.
