It must have been tough to cut off those flowers.
Are you going to do 24 hour lights with the plugs? I would try that too but my lights are in my dampish, humid basement. I don't think a plant would last a whole year without some kind of disease taking over. As it is, there is always a recovery period when they get out of the house in April.

My thing from seed are dahlias. I try for black leaves and center or a yellow center with substance and a strong color. I don't go for the florist types so much. If you are interested in trying these, lmk. Most seedlings end up green and washed out but there is usually at least one keeper.
This are two of my seedlings that I've kept. I know they sell them everywhere now but I've been doing this on and off for a few years now.
