A few years ago I was startled to see the young flower stems on my hybrid echinaceas as well as those on Echinacea tennisseensis curl down late in the evening. The stems were still quite stiff and turgid and not at all limp. The next day they were all straight up again. I since learned that some echinaceas are heliotropic so I don't worry anymore. Since I thought it was kind of interesting, I posted daytime and late evening photos.
