A BIT ABOUT MY GARDEN
My garden is in USDA zone 6a
Ecoregion 67b Northern Shale Valleys

I have a frost free growing season from around May 1-10 until October 15-30.

Winston the pug and I moved yet again to a charming mountain cottage and brought the plants with us!

I have a passion for roses, especially antique and English roses. I start perennial and annual cottage style flowers from seed to grow with my roses.

I love to cook and like to grow vegetables and culinary herbs. I love edible, decorative veggies like purple kale and red lettuce that I can grow with my flowers.

I have a sunny yard bordered by trees. I am filling the yard with sun loving flowers and veggies and adding shade plants around the wooded border. My goal is to have a yard full of flowers and veggies with no grass to mow.

My biggest gardening challenges are deer and rocks! Deer resistant plants and rock garden plants are welcome! If I were more practical, I would have a large rock garden and a fenced in veggie garden. Instead, I make diy bambi-be-gone spray by the gallon.
