A BIT ABOUT MY GARDEN
I'm very interested in heirloom fruits and vegetables, as well as medicinal and rare culinary herbs. I also like rare/oddball plants and unusual Solanacea.

MY 2014 SEED SOWING JOURNAL AND NOTES SECTION
Mushroom Info from Joseph:
From the research I just finished, it looks like mushroom spores remain viable for years. So, just in case mushroom spores show up in anyone's feeding trough....
I recommend adding about 30 ml water, and leave the label in the bag, and shake it, and let it sit overnight before dumping the solution/paper out onto whatever substrate you are inoculating. The spores are not sterile, so I recommend using them only for outdoor grows. Planting at the beginning of rainy weather is highly recommended.
To give the mushrooms an extra boost of nutrients and antibiotics, 1 ml of molasses and 1 ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide may be added to the water before adding to the mushrooms.

Corn Info From Sorellina:
The easiest way for me to tell between sweet eating corn and flour corn:
*Sweet corn in the dry seed form have wrinkled kernels
*Flour corn in the dry seed form have round kernels, usually white but Hopi Blue is another flour corn - softer than flint corn
*Dent corn or Field corn has a visible dent in the middle of the kernels
*Flint corn in the dry seed form have rounded glossy, often very colourful kernels - this is like the Glass Gem Corn that Joseph and I offered - I think someone also had some to share.

For Aphids (info from Scorpion_John):
i use acclaim antibacterial soap. try it, you will be amazed how fast it kills aphids. its a terrible hand soap cintas supplys at work. drys your hands like crazy. but it kills aphids faster than anything i have tried.
