Ella's Garden Plants from A to Z: Dahlia pinnata, Kelvin Lighthouse, Dahlia

Common Name: Dahlia

Genus: Dahlia

Species: pinnata

Cultivar or Variety: Kelvin Lighthouse

Characteristics of Plant
Kelvin Lighthouse is a beautiful decorative Dahlia that can produce dinnerplate size flowers.

The blooms of this lovely Dahlia are a bright, sunny , yellow color.

This Dahlia prefers full sun, but for those in very hot climates a bit of shade in the afternoon is appreciated.

Dahlias in general prefer to be kept on the dry side. Too much water will cause foliage to turn brow, and die off.

To have blooms all season long, keep spent blooms removed.
