Flowers are bright yellow, with black-dark maroon lower left, and they occur in whorls up and down the flower stem.

native to Yunnan, China

loved by bees & butterflies, and I would expect hummingbirds to be similarly enthralled, since although yellow is said to be their least favorite color, that has not deterred them in my garden with similarly shaped flowers.

Taxonomic Tussle:

Some sources say the flower of this webpage's description is Salvia bulleyana, and others say it is Salvia flava. Any help in this matter would be most appreciated.
